TO ALL
MY NIECES AND NEPHEWS:

I didn't want this moment passed by without thank you all involved in my
beloved father funeral. A thousand thanks is all i can say at this moment
because i can't find the right word to express my deep feeling of
thankfulness for what you all did.There was a ray of happiness seeing all you
planning all the details for the service and your caring and togetherness
which can be found only in a caring family. Please try to pass it to your
children.I know your parents must feel very proud for everything you did. Please
let me take this opportunity to tell all of you to show all the love and
affection for them now because when they gone there will be a big void which
will live with us forever .Although my FATHER is not among us anymore ,but the
seed he planted a long time ago, which is growing very rapidly, and his
reminiscence will be forever among us. Please pass along this e-mail because it
is impossible for me do thank each of you individually.One more time thank you
from a bottom of my heart and my GOD bless you all.

Your uncle,
Arnaldo Depina

Sadness v. Longing
I
I’ve looked into myself
For I’d a dream about my birthplace;
Then I saw in it the image of a friend,
The great friend of my childhood.
II
I’ve looked back to review
Some past events with ancient fellows;
I saw in front of me
João Lopes, John, Fidélio, Maria, Josefa
As well as Maria Teresa, Papá de Pipita,
Laurindo, Afraneo(Gui), Clarimundo Cardoso
And so many others excellent friends…
III
But, swift the moments pass away
And so the dreadfull dream;
The image looked like a fine character
And a so vivid personage in scary night mare;
IV
Suddenly, I woke up
Saddeningly, I remember the great friend of my birthplace
Olimpio de Pina was a frank and a sincere friend;
He was the counselor of all children
He met along our countryside;
He was as a “father” of all children
He had always time to attend us
He had always an advice for us.

O, we all regret his absence!
We are all longing for him
However, in a hope after hope,
May Jehovah blesses all of us
To meet him again in God’s New World!
